Cueson v0.0.0 establishes the first reviewable foundation for Cue JSON, exact source-envelope restoration, portable command behavior, and future native subtitle codecs.

Highlights

• Provides a buildable pure-Go cueson executable with truthful help, version reporting, embedded-schema access, validation, and codec-independent exact restoration from valid source envelopes.
• Defines the canonical Draft 2020-12 Cue JSON 0.0.0 schema, format-neutral model, source-fidelity invariants, safe portable names, explicit diagnostics, and derived OCR boundaries.
• Restores validated source bundles through complete destination planning, staged writes, integrity checks, overwrite protection, rollback, and platform-aware timestamp handling.
• Includes a provenance-governed fixture corpus, conformance coverage, bounded fuzz targets, native Windows, macOS, and Linux tests, and six-target pure-Go build verification.
• Establishes least-privilege CI, CodeQL, pull-request policy, repository controls, documentation verification, and a non-publishing release proof with checksums and target-bound SPDX SBOMs.
• Retains and integrates the complete official Cueson brand kit with offline integrity verification and documented licensing boundaries.
• Admits the byte-identical versioned v0.0.0 schema and documents the release verification used to bind candidate evidence.

Current limitations

This release remains envelope-only. It does not include native SRT or WebVTT ingest, model-driven render, or cross-format conversion. The implemented restore command requires an already-populated valid Cue JSON source envelope and restores its authoritative source bytes without deriving semantic cues.

Signatures, attestations, public schema hosting, and production cueson.io activation are outside this release and remain separately governed.
